Pipe Jack 1800mm RCP for 40m

Codmah were engaged by BHP Billiton to strengthen the existing 2.0mØ brick arch culvert (BAC) that passes under the rail corridor at rail chainage 70.508km. The strengthening of the culvert requires the jacking of 1.8mØ (O/D) pipes through the culvert, from each side, to form a sleeve so that if the BAC fails as a result of mine subsidence, the track formation and the waterway area will be retained by the concrete lining.

  • Install HDPE skid rails  to support and allow concrete pipes to slide through the barrel.
  • Jack 1.8mØ (O/D) sleeve from outlet (Eastern Side) through the existing 2.0mØ brick arch culvert up to the bend.
  • The annulus of the sleeved section to be left un grouted.
  • Provide a junction for sleeve at the bend in the culvert.
  • Jack 1.8mØ (O/D) sleeve from inlet (Western Side) through the existing 2.0mØ brick arch culvert up to the bend.
  • Complete junction at the bend in the culvert
  • Tie weep holes into to a 150mm pvc storm water either side of  new concrete culvert
