Wakehurst Parkway Capacity Development Project
Location: Wakehurst Parkway (Between Frenchs Forest & North Narrabeen)
Purpose: Construct a new 250mm SDR9 PE Secondary Gas Pipeline (1050kpa) between Frenchs Forest Road & North Narrabeen to boost the secondary gas system in the Northern Beaches.
Distance: 11 Kilometers
Creek Crossings: 11 Crossings in total
Client: Jemena Asset Management
  • Decommission Existing 375mm Medium Pressure Steel Pipeline
  • Codmah have purchased 3 x Automatic Butt Welding machines Gator 400 G400220AFE for the project, using the Gator 400 instead of the Gator 250 will allow us the flexibility to carryout welds on bends, stub flanges and will also allow us to weld the 400mm PE HDD Casing Pipe.

  • Codmah are using a Vermeer 24x40A HDD Rig as the primary insertion technique. The use of the HDD Rig will allow the rods to be inserted up through the pipe section and provide a proven method for attaching and pulling back the PE pipe
  • Codmah is using our Vermeer D100x120A HDD Rig as the primary HDD Equipment for this process. This Drill Rig has  the capabilities to undertake the drilling and pull back of 400mm SDR17.5 PE Casing Pipe in rock for up to 600 meters. Using this HDD Rig allows for the use of mud recycling unit to be placed on site and minimise the amount of waste to be removed to licensed facilities.
